JOB TITLE :GENERAL ACCOUNTANTS (2 POSITIONS)
NATURE OF JOB: FULL TIME
INDUSTRY:RETAIL
SALARY: KSHS. 65,000 – 70,000
JOB LOCATION:NAIROBI
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Financial Accounting and Reporting
- Prepare, review, and maintain accurate financial records in line with accounting standards and company policies.
- Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Perform bank reconciliations, supplier reconciliations, and other control account reconciliations.
- Support the month-end and year-end closing processes.
Accounts Payable & Receivable
- Process supplier invoices, verify supporting documentation, and ensure timely payments.
- Manage customer invoicing, collections, and credit control processes.
- Maintain accurate AP/AR aging reports and follow up on outstanding balances.
Taxation and Compliance
- Prepare and file statutory returns including VAT, PAYE, Withholding Tax, and
- Corporate Tax in accordance with KRA regulations.
- Ensure compliance with tax laws and provide support during tax audits.
- Liaise with external auditors and regulatory bodies as required.
Inventory and Cost Accounting
- Work closely with the procurement and warehouse teams to maintain accurate inventory valuation and cost tracking.
- Analyze variances between physical stock and system records, and recommend corrective actions.
- Support cost analysis and margin reporting for management decision-making.
ERP and Systems Management
- Utilize ERP/accounting systems for data entry, reporting, and analysis.
- Support system enhancements, ensuring data integrity and accurate financial reporting.
Internal Controls and Process Improvement
- Ensure proper documentation and adherence to internal control procedures.
- Identify process inefficiencies and recommend improvements.
KEY REQUIREMENT SKILLS AND QUALIFICATION
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field.
- CPA (Kenya) qualification – minimum CPA Section 4 or higher.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a busy accounting environment.
- Experience in an FMCG or manufacturing setup is desirable
- Proven experience in tax compliance and statutory filings.
- Proficiency in ERP/accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks, or similar).
