Global Market Lead/Treasury Officer (Forex Trading)

Key Responsibilities

Global Markets Strategy & Research

• Develop comprehensive investment strategies targeting Sub-Saharan African markets.
• Design innovative trading strategies for Local and Eurobond markets to drive revenue growth.
• Conduct global and regional economic analysis, tracking macroeconomic indicators and geopolitical risks.
• Develop predictive models and integrated research frameworks linking global and African market insights.

Business Development & Client Relationship Management

• Expand EIB’s financial services across East Africa and gradually across the continent.
• Source, onboard, and manage institutional clients and high-net-worth individuals.
• Deliver investment presentations, market insights, and strategic advice to clients.
• Negotiate product pricing and terms with counterparties to secure favorable agreements.

Forex Trading & Treasury Operations

• Execute forex trades to maximize returns and manage currency risk exposure.
• Monitor exchange rates and global economic events to inform trading decisions.
• Develop and implement hedging strategies to mitigate currency risks.
• Maintain accurate records of all trades, positions, and settlements.
• Provide daily FX rate updates, market bulletins, and performance reports to management and clients.

Risk Management & Compliance

• Develop advanced risk assessment and mitigation strategies for global and offshore investments.
• Ensure compliance with international, regional, and internal regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with Finance, Compliance, and other departments on risk and operational matters.

Training & Leadership

• Mentor junior staff and provide guidance on treasury operations and forex trading.
• Stay updated on industry trends, regulatory developments, and best practices in forex and global markets.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Accounting, or related field. Master’s degree or professional certifications (CFA, CPA) highly desirable.
• Minimum 7 years of experience in global markets or investment analysis, with at least 3 years in a senior role.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in forex trading within the financial industry.
• Strong understanding of treasury operations, forex trading platforms, and financial instruments.
• Proven ability to analyze markets, develop trading strategies, and manage risk.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship management skills.
• Proficiency in financial modeling, Treasury Management Systems, and advanced Excel.
