Job Summary

Reporting to the Director, Human Resources, the role is responsible for leading the delivery of a proactive and customer focused HR Services across Telkom. This will include implementing the Telkom Total Reward philosophy and compensation strategy that will ensure the attraction, retention and development of talent. The incumbent will manage and oversee the execution of all aspects of HR operations and transaction management, including maintenance of people records, employee welfare, and wellness programmes. The role will also be the custodian of HR people related policies and procedures and ensure compliance of the same.

Job Description/Requirements

Powered by its vast fibre optic infrastructure, it is also a major provider of wholesale carrier-to-carrier traffic, within the country and the region.  

Key Duties and Responsibilities 

• Provide input into the development and articulation of people strategy and play a critical role in its delivery and implementation.  

• Develop and implement programs, policies, tools and infrastructure to support the Compensation & Benefits and Operations strategy. 

• Review the recognition and incentive pay practices and ensure they contribute to the overall People Management, wellbeing and engagement agenda. 

• Manage HR costs - review and approve or modify budgets. Advise the Company on the cost-effective operating model and ensure all HR initiatives are cost effective, run smoothly and contribute to a healthy work environment. 

• Supervise the delivery of end-to-end transactional HR shared services activities related with the employment cycle and ensure effective execution and overall administration. 

• HR Management Information Systems and data integrity, payroll and employee documentation. 

• Support the change management process across Telkom, in partnership with rest of HR Business Partners,  

• Ensure an adequate mechanism exists for the collection, processing and analysis of people data in line with applicable legal requirements around records retention, privacy and confidentiality access. 

• Promote data governance and stewardship within the HR function in order to improve strategic and operational performance insight.  

• Analyze, maintain, and enhance staffing headcount reporting, turnover reporting, and various other reporting.


The person we are looking for should hold:   

• Relevant Business or Finance degree and registration as an HR professional Post-Graduate certificate in Reward Management  

• At least 7 years experience in Reward and HR services 

• Hands-on experience with Human Resources Information Systems 

• Experience designing compensation and benefits packages
