Job Purpose:  

Responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Banks information technology systems, including hardware, software, networking and telecommunications. Managing IT infrastructure, designing, installing, and maintaining of the systems and measurement of key metrics.

Key Responsibilities   

% of Time 80%
•    Liaise with Business to understand individual business needs and design appropriate solutions to meet these requirements.
•    Define and manage IT Disaster Recovery Strategy for the Bank.
•    Report and prepare strategies to maintain server infrastructure.
•    Develop, execute and oversee procedures, policies and related training plans for project management and infrastructure administration
•    Design and execute short plus long term strategic plans to assure infrastructure capacity attains current and future needs.
•    Manage and establish priorities for maintenance, design, development and analysis of entire infrastructure systems inclusive of LANs, WANs, and internet and security implementations.
•    Troubleshoots problems regarding the Network downtime and servers errors.
•    Coordinating system management, building in redundancy and room for growth, and emergency planning.
•    Document Network incident on problems including downtime and resolutions timelines.
•    Assist staff in other departments as an IT resource.
•    Develop and implement an effective and efficient security system that ensures Network, Systems and Data Security as well as recovery from internal and external security threats.

•    Keep up-to-date with the trends and developments in technology to improve service to the bank.
•    Owns the development lifecycle and is responsible for managing technical risks

•    Supervises and leads the staff of the infrastructure unit.
•    Attending to users technical and network challenges.
•    Ensure 99 % systems uptime for the Bank.

Knowledge; Skills and Experience required for this Role
•    A good knowledge of the operating system(s)
•    Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Science or Management Information Systems or a related area.
•    Relevant computer training certification networking i.e CCNA.
•    Excellent knowledge in IT Disaster Recovery management.
•    At least 5 years of IT experience including managing teams responsible for architecture design and deployment, systems lifecycle management and infrastructure planning and operations.
•    Experience in areas such as network design and administration, data center operations, database administration, and systems programming and administration
•    Strong management and people development skills
•    Understanding of ITIL practices
•    Ability to think logically and demonstrate strong analytical and problem solving skills
•    Ability to manage internal and external projects from inception to completion
•    Expertise in setting and managing customer expectations
•    Skill in conceptualizing creative solutions as well as documenting them and presenting them to senior management
•    Strong knowledge and understanding of business needs with ability to establish and maintain a high level of customer trust and confidence
•    Ability to develop and deliver projects using leading edge technologies
•    Experience implementing packages and working with vendors
•    Excellent oral and written communication skills
