Maintenance Advisor

POSITION SUMMARY

The Maintenance Advisor will assist the Kenyan Defense Force (KDF) to establish an online training and certification process, standard operating procedures (SOP), repair facilities in Isiolo, Thika, and Garissa, as well as develop a cadre of liaisons that can replicate the tasks managed the advisor. The Maintenance Advisor will also develop a work plan that includes a breakdown of timelines, milestones, training schedules, and mentorship schedules while forecasting daily and weekly activities.

QUALIFICATIONS

Three (3) years of experience working in Sub-Saharan Africa or other developing country

Five (5) years of hands-on experience working as an enlisted member or officer of the U.S. military in a maintenance MOS at the S-4 or equivalent section

Two (2) years of experience working as an enlisted member or officer of the U.S military in a maintenance MOS at the Brigade Staff level, or U.S. Marines/Navy/Air Force equivalent, and above

Two (2) years of experience developing and delivering training modules to foreign militaries

WORKING CONDITIONS

Work is typically based in OCONUS austere environment, work environment includes working outside in heat that can exceed 100 degrees during the summer.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Must pass a standard physical examination that includes medical history, height, weight, blood pressure. Must pass pre-employment drug testing and remain drug free for the duration of the contract. Must be able to lift 50 lbs. of equipment or stock inventory.
