Mechanical Engineer

Role Summary

A Mechanical Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, analyzing, and testing mechanical systems, components, and products The role involves applying engineering principles to solve real-world challenges such as improving energy efficiency, enhancing manufacturing processes, and bringing physical products from concept to completion

Key Responsibilities

·       Design and develop mechanical systems, structures, and components

·       Create technical drawings and 3D models using CAD software

·       Perform simulations and engineering analysis to validate designs

·       Select appropriate materials based on application and performance

·       Manage engineering projects from conception to completion

·       Supervise installation of mechanical structures and systems

·       Conduct machine installation, servicing, and maintenance (eg, batching plants, threading machines, turnstiles)

·       Ensure designs meet safety, quality, and manufacturing standards

·       Collaborate with production, electrical, and automation teams

·       Apply design-for-manufacturing (DFM) principles to improve efficiency

Core Technical Knowledge

·       Mechanics and Dynamics (force, motion, torque, stress, strain, vibration)

·       Thermodynamics (heat transfer, energy systems, refrigeration, engines)

·       Fluid Mechanics (fluid flow, pumps, turbines, hydraulics, piping systems)

·       Material Science (metals, polymers, composites, fatigue, corrosion)

·       Machine Design (gears, bearings, shafts, springs, fasteners, safety factors)

·       Manufacturing Processes (machining, casting, welding, fabrication)

·       HVAC systems and energy applications

·       Mechatronics, and automation systems

·       Design & CAD Skills

Key Competencies

·       Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering

·       3 – 5 years’ experience in Mechanical Engineering

·       Ability to solve complex engineering problems

·       Strong analytical and technical skills

·       Attention to detail and accuracy

·       Team collaboration and communication

·       Project management and leadership ability
