Job Summary
We are looking for a competent engineer who will effectively implement preventive, condition based and breakdown maintenance at the plant for all mechanical machines, equipment and plant facilities for maximum efficiency and reliability.

Job Description/Requirements
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Plan and organize maintenance
• Respond to breakdowns
• Report down time and possible trends
• Support and lead continuous improvement activities like AM, SMED, RCA, TWI and process improvement activities
• Carry out FMEAs, (Failure Mode Effects Analysis) process documentation and implement improvements
• Poka Yoke (error proofing) where possible to prevent errors
• Investigate production and process issues providing technical support and training
• Undertake continuous training and development by leading and/or supporting technicians, trainee engineers and machine operators.
• Design fixtures and tooling for assembly tasks
• Initiating purchase requisition for machine spare parts for maintenance
• Logging details of work performed on data records to enable further action, planning for next service and storage as history
• Inspection of machines operations and recording of data to ascertain smooth operation or service requirements
• Identify and report all assets misuse-machines, spares, tools, facilities
• Machine modification, improvement and innovation to improve efficiency
• Support SHE and 5S initiatives and objectives
• Trouble shooting mechanical equipment and machine failures by inspection and testing, and prescribing corrective action and reinstating it back to its working condition.
• Identify and report all quality and safety issues during daily operations
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
• Diploma or Degree in mechanical engineering plant option or mechanical Engineering technician
• Minimum 3 years working experience in maintenance of industrial machinery and equipment
• A good understanding and knowledge in machines trouble shooting and preventive maintenance
• Good planning skills
• Computer literacy and ability to write and interpret technical reports
• Competent in problem solving, team building, planning and decision making
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent organization skills and attention to detail
