POSITION: MERCHANDISER PROJECT LEAD


LOCATION: NAIROBI


INDUSTRY: FMCG


Job Purpose


The Project Lead will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and overseeing the execution of the merchandising project to ensure delivery of client expectations, operational efficiency, and high-quality reporting. The role requires strong leadership, data analysis, reporting, and stakeholder management skills.


Key Responsibilities


Project Coordination & Execution



  • Lead the day-to-day implementation of the merchandising project.
  • Ensure merchandisers strictly follow approved journey plans and service schedules.
  • Monitor field performance and ensure agreed service levels and KPIs are met.
  • Identify operational challenges and implement timely corrective actions.


Team Leadership & Field Support



  • Supervise and guide the merchandising team to achieve project objectives.
  • Conduct regular market visits and accompaniments to assess performance and provide coaching.
  • Ensure adherence to company policies, client standards, and project guidelines.
  • Drive team motivation, accountability, and performance improvement.


Reporting & Data Analysis



  • Prepare and share accurate daily, weekly, and monthly performance reports.
  • Analyse field data and convert insights into clear, actionable recommendations.
  • Maintain data integrity and ensure timely submission of reports.


Client Management



  • Present project reports, insights, and feedback to the client.
  • Maintain strong working relationships with key client stakeholders.
  • Address client queries, feedback, and escalations promptly and professionally.


Qualifications and Requirements



  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Project Management, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in project management or field operations management.
  • Experience leading merchandising or field sales teams is required.
  • Strong analytical and reporting skills.

Working Conditions



  • Frequent travel between retail outlets within the assigned territory.
  • Work may involve lifting and arranging product displays.
