Level: Master’s degree
Field(s): Agriculture, Agricultural Economics, Public Policy, Development Studies, Political Science, or related field
Experience: Preference will be given to those with experience in NGOs
Location: Based in Nairobi
Duties and responsibilities
To manage the policy and advocacy department of the Eastern Africa Farmers’ Federation. This entails performing the following tasks:
• Developing and implementing an the EAFF policy and advocacy master plan
• Building capacity of member organizations in the area of policy and advocacy.
• To implement programs and projects related to policy and advocacy
• To represent EAFF at regional, continental and international events that are of a policy nature
• To contribute to fund-raising through new projects and programs
• Performs other activities as assigned by the Chief Executive Officer.
Requisite Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in policy analysis, advocacy and policy related program management,
• Strong understanding of agricultural policy frameworks and farmer organization dynamics.
• Experience working with government institutions and multi-stakeholder platforms.
• Proven ability to write high-quality policy briefs and reports.
Contract duration: The selected candidate will be offered a 3 years renewable employment contract with possibility of extension.
