JOB TITLE: PEST CONTROL AND FUMIGATION TECHNICIAN

SALARY: KSHS.55,000 -65,000

JOB LOCATION:MOGADISHU AIRPORT (GREEN ZONE)

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Conduct regular inspections to identify signs of pest infestation across airport facilities, buildings, and surrounding areas.
• Assess pest control requirements based on environmental conditions and level of infestation.
• Execute effective pest control and fumigation strategies to eliminate and prevent pests such as rodents, insects, termites, and birds.
• Apply pesticides, insecticides, fumigants, and traps in compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
• Safely handle and store pest control chemicals and equipment.
• Ensure strict adherence to chemical safety protocols and personal protective equipment (PPE) usage.
• Maintain accurate records of pest control activities, chemical usage, safety incidents, and inspections.
• Prepare routine reports on pest control effectiveness and recommend improvements as necessary.
• Ensure all pest control practices are compliant with local, international, and airport health regulations.
• Support airport environmental health and sanitation standards as per ICAO and IATA guidelines.
• Coordinate with facility managers, health and safety officers, and airport operations teams.
• Provide clear guidance and information regarding pest control activities and safety procedures.

KEY REQUIREMENT SKILLS AND QUALIFICATION

• Degree or Diploma in Agriculture, Entomology, Environmental Science, or a related discipline.
• Valid certification or training in Pest Control and Fumigation from a recognized
• institution.
• Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in pest control and fumigation, preferably in high-security or sensitive environments.
• In-depth knowledge of pest biology, control methodologies, chemical classifications, and safety procedures.
• Proven track record of implementing Integrated Pest Management (IPM) techniques.
• Strong understanding of health and environmental regulations related to pest control and chemical use.
• Good written and verbal communication skills in English; knowledge of Somali is a plus.
