Reports To: Maintenance Supervisor / Operations Manager
1. Job Purpose
The Plumber is responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining the hotel’s water supply systems, drainage, and sanitation infrastructure. The role ensures all plumbing works comply with safety standards and hotel operational requirements to provide a safe and comfortable environment for guests and staff.
2. Key Responsibilities
• Install, maintain, and repair water supply lines, drainage systems, and related fixtures (sinks, toilets, showers, and water heaters).
• Inspect plumbing systems and identify issues such as leaks, blockages, or corrosion.
• Perform preventive maintenance as per hotel maintenance schedules.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests and plumbing emergencies in guest rooms, kitchens, and staff areas.
• Maintain accurate records of materials used and work completed.
• Ensure all plumbing works comply with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
• Collaborate with other maintenance staff and departments to resolve technical issues efficiently.
• Advise management on required repairs, replacements, or upgrades to improve efficiency.
• Maintain cleanliness and orderliness in the maintenance workshop and work sites.
• Report any safety hazards, water leaks, or equipment faults immediately to the Maintenance Supervisor.
3. Qualifications and Experience
• Diploma or Certificate in Plumbing or Building Services from a recognized institution.
• Minimum of 2–3 years of practical experience in plumbing, preferably within a hotel or hospitality environment.
• Good understanding of water supply systems, drainage, and sanitation installations.
• Knowledge of safety and environmental standards applicable to plumbing work.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.

5. Working Hours
• 8-hour shifts with flexibility for emergency calls or after-hours maintenance tasks.
• Weekend and holiday shifts as per hotel maintenance schedule.
6. Reporting and Accountability
The Plumber reports directly to the Maintenance Supervisor and indirectly to the Operations Manager. Performance will be evaluated based on response time, quality of repairs, preventive maintenance compliance, and adherence to safety standards.
