Job Description/Requirements

Position    Project Manager
Duty Station    Nairobi
Reporting to    Technical Director

Role Purpose
The Project manager is responsible for overseeing project planning, development, and implementation of assigned client’s portfolio within schedule, cost, quality & control. He/she will provide support for multiple projects and will be the interface between the Company and the client.

Key Duties and Responsibilities
•    Develop and manage work breakdown structure (WBS) for information technology projects.
•    Develop implementation plans that include analyses such as cost-benefit or return on investment (ROI); Prepare project business cases.
•    Develop or update project plans for information technology projects including information such as project objectives, technologies, systems, information specifications, schedules, funding, and staffing.
•    Assign duties, responsibilities, and spans of authority to project personnel.
•    Coordinate recruitment or selection of project personnel.
•    Develop and manage annual budgets for information technology projects.
•    Enforce compliance to project management best practices, using methodology such as Agile, Waterfall etc and tools such as Project management software.
•    Establish and execute a project communication plan.
•    Manage project execution to ensure adherence to budget, schedule, and scope and as per the contractual agreements.
•    Identify roles and responsibilities of the project team.
•    Represent the company at customer project implementation steering committees.
•    Track project progress and provide management reporting.
•    Ensure the quality of project management execution and provide guidance on continuous improvement of project processes.
•    Determine the cause of deviations from the project plan and take corrective actions to address deviations.
•    Lead, coordinate and monitor projects tasks up to billing and ensure proper hand over.
•    Ensure the resolution of customer and internal project issues.
•    Ensure correct billing against agreed customer contractual agreement for the assigned projects.
•    Any other duties as assigned by the line manager.

Education, Experience & Professional Knowledge
•    University degree in IT / Engineering / Telecommunication.
•    Project Management Certification/accredited project manager (PMP) or Prince 2
•    At least 7 years’ experience in project management. Two years in technology domains preferably Network infrastructure and or Security.
•    Knowledge of network technologies.

•    Display a bias for decisiveness by meeting the most aggressive timelines for delivering high quality proposals
•    Highly values accuracy
•    Makes active attempts to influence events to achieve goals: self-starting rather than acting passively
•    Excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills with clearly demonstrated methodologies to keep project teams and stakeholders well informed.
•    Ability and willingness to quickly learn new technologies, capable of self-study.
•    Eager to work in a dynamic multi-national environment with a strong customer focus.
•    Ability to give full attention to what other people are saying, and to use logic and reason to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions.
