PROJECT OFFICER – COMMUNICATION


CHAK is a national Faith Based health service delivery and program organization of the Protestant Churches in Kenya established in 1946 with presence in 45 counties in Kenya.


CHAK has emerged as a market leader and driver in HIV prevention, care and treatment programs in Kenya, working collaboratively with the national and the county governments to improve access to quality prevention and service delivery and to catalyze strengthening of county health systems and community health networks, fostering greater sustainability and self-reliance.


CHAK will be implementing a AFYA JUMUISHA USAID funded 5-year HIV Prevention, care and treatment project in Meru, Tharaka Nithi, Embu and Nyandarua, starting around April / May of
2021.


CHAK is therefore seeking to recruit competent, experienced and highly skilled candidates expected to drive the project to achieve its objectives and to act as change agents supporting a
culture of performance and accountability within the project counties.

PROJECT OFFICER – COMMUNICATION

Position reports to the CDOP /STA the PO Communication will be responsible for Knowledge management and joint learning, capturing and sharing practical experiences, lessons leant and success stories. S/he will provide strategic Knowledge Management and Learning excellence to ensure that USAID AFYA Jumuisha brand and logo are effectively associated with the achievements of the project and that AFYA Jumuisha is positioned highly in the county and beyond.


The Knowledge PO Communication will use traditional and digital learning approaches to develop and implement innovative, creative, and effective ways to capture and share the coaching and mentoring activities and outcomes conducted in the project.


Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • S/he will Lead the development of knowledge management strategy and the associated implementation plan and data sharing policy in compliance with the USAID and CHAKs information sharing policies.
  • Create mechanisms for capturing and documenting key successful interventions of AFYA Jumuisha and the counties where the project is implemented.
  • Manage knowledge sharing events including seminars/webinars, workshops, conferences, and peer learning sessions. Define systems and processes for collecting, managing, and sharing data and information with stakeholders on an ongoing basis.
  • In conjunction with M&E team, assist in tracking indicators for AFYA Jumuisha deliverables
  • Responding to stake holder concerns in a timely manner and engaging them in meaningful knowledge exchange and identify and share creative, efficient and effective ways to engage audiences to facilitate joint learning and collaboration.
  • Manage and utilize AFYA Jumuisha and CHAK websites for responding stake holders and for channeling meaningful interactive knowledge exchange.
  • Ensure AFYA Jumuisha has an up-to-date easy-to-access database of lessons learned and best practices and success stories in all its key result areas.
  • Establish and maintain partnerships with county government teams, relevant institutions and program partners.
  • In collaboration with Jumuisha consortium partners, design and implement effective learning activities that capture and share knowledge.
  • Work collaboratively with CHAK secretariat communications Officer to ensure alignment, integrate knowledge management into one cohesive communication strategy.
