- Conduct scheduled and random patrols of all hotel areas including guest floors, parking areas, perimeter, back-of-house, and public spaces
- Monitor CCTV systems continuously and identify any suspicious or unusual activity
- Ensure all security equipment (radios, cameras, alarms) is functional and report faults immediately
- Maintain a visible presence to deter unauthorized activities and reassure guests
- Manage entry and exit points, ensuring only authorized persons access restricted areas
- Verify staff IDs, visitor passes, and supplier documentation
- Monitor movement of goods in and out of the premises to prevent theft or pilferage
- Conduct bag checks in line with company policy while maintaining professionalism
- Respond promptly to emergencies such as fire alarms, medical incidents, disturbances, or security breaches
- De-escalate conflicts involving guests, staff, or external parties in a calm and professional manner
- Record detailed incident reports, including observations, actions taken, and outcomes
- Preserve evidence and support investigations where required
- Support implementation of fire safety and evacuation procedures
- Participate in emergency drills and ensure readiness at all times
- Provide basic first aid and coordinate medical assistance when needed
- Identify potential safety hazards and report or rectify them proactively
- Offer assistance to guests in a courteous and professional manner while ensuring safety
- Escort guests or staff when necessary, especially in late hours or sensitive situations
- Handle lost and found items in accordance with hotel procedures
- Balance security enforcement with a customer-friendly approach
- Liaise with supervisors, management, and external agencies (police, fire services, ambulance) when required
- Communicate clearly during shift handovers, ensuring continuity of security operations
- Work closely with other departments (Front Office, Housekeeping, Engineering) to address safety concerns
- Enforce hotel policies, security protocols, and legal regulations
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information and incidents
- Uphold high standards of discipline, grooming, and professionalism
- Adhere to ethical conduct and demonstrate integrity at all times
- Diploma in Security Management, Criminology, or a related field
- 2–3 years of experience in a hotel or hospitality security setup
- Basic knowledge of first aid and emergency response procedures
- Familiarity with CCTV systems and access control systems
- Strong observation, communication, and problem-solving skills
- High level of integrity, professionalism, and reliability
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and respond effectively to emergencies
- Physically fit and able to stand or patrol for extended periods
