Job Purpose
Talent Grid Africa, on behalf of our esteemed client, is seeking a passionate and qualified senior
accountant to join a reputable Organization. The senior accountant will play a key role in our
finance team and help drive continued growth and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
• Manage the full general ledger accounting functions, including journal entries, accruals, pre-payments, fixed assets and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Lead the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial
reporting (income statement, balance sheet, cash flow) in compliance with applicable
accounting standards.
• Prepare and review financial statements and reporting packages for senior management,
including variance analysis, budget vs actuals and forecasts.
• Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable, manage vendor and tenant/contractor
transactions, ensure accurate recording of operational costs and revenues.
• Work closely with property/service management teams for budgeting, forecasting, CAM
(common area maintenance) reconciliations, lease/admin accounting and cost allocation where
applicable.
• Support audit and tax external engagements by preparing audit schedules, liaising with external
parties, and ensuring compliance with internal controls and regulatory standards.
• Develop and maintain internal control systems, and identify opportunities for process
improvements and system enhancements.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to junior accounting staff, helping to strengthen the finance team’s capabilities.
Qualifications
✓ Bachelor of Commerce (BCom) or any accounting degree.
✓ Certified Public Accountant (CPA) Kenya (CPA(K)) qualification is required.
✓ Minimum of 3 years of relevant accounting experience; experience in the property management
or service industry is a strong advantage.
✓ Proficiency with accounting software such as SAGE and/or Microsoft Dynamics NAV
(Navision).
✓ Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
✓ Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with high attention to detail and accuracy.
✓ Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to liaise across teams, including
non-financial stakeholders.
✓ Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and foster
continuous improvement.
