ABOUT THE COMPANY

Ramesh Kanji Malde together with his brothers, Anil and Naresh Malde, began Pwani Oil Company production of coconut oil in Mombasa. The operations expanded at the Jomvu Pwani Oil Products factory with corn and sunflower manufacturing before settling for palm oil refining in 1985–a site which Pwani Oil Product are still located at till today.

JOB SUMMARY

QualificationsBachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Economics, Agriculture, Food Technology, or related field.Strong experience in the inbound and outbound logistics which includes LCL, FCL, ocean, air, parcel.Minimum 5-7 years of experience in freight management, procurement, trading, commodity analysis, or sourcing.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Freight & Logistics ManagementNegotiate competitive freight rates (air, ocean, parcel, domestic).Manage carrier contracts to ensure cost efficiency and service reliability.Monitor freight markets and resolve shipment delays proactively.Market Intelligence & ForecastingTrack global commodity markets (edible oils, raw materials, plastics), including price trends and risk factors.Prepare dashboards and provide short- and long-term market forecasts for management.Strategic ProcurementIdentify optimal buying windows and recommend cost-effective purchasing strategies.Explore bulk/forward contracts and global sourcing options to reduce cost and ensure supply continuity.Supplier & Risk ManagementDevelop and manage international supplier networks.Negotiate commercial terms and consolidate volumes for better leverage.Assess supply chain risks and implement mitigation or hedging strategies while ensuring policy compliance.
