Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in agricultural education and extension, horticulture, or related field. The role involves strong agronomic expertise with hands-on field execution and customer engagement. Strong knowledge of crop management, pest control, and soil health. Excellent planning, reporting, and interpersonal skills. Must have a valid driving license.
Experience:
Minimum 4 to 5 years of experience in crop protection, seed production, registration, or sales. Proven experience working with KEPHIS and PCPB on product trials and registration.
Salary:
Kshs. 100,000 - 150,000 plus company benefits.
Duties/Responsibilities:
The agronomist will support company operations in the Lower Eastern region of Kenya. The role involves identifying suitable agricultural molecules for import and registration, conducting field trials, and providing technical support to farmers and customers.
He/she will be responsible for the following:
Technical & Regulatory:
Identify and recommend suitable agricultural molecules for import, registration, and trials.
Plan and oversee field trials in liaison with KEPHIS, PCPB, and other regulatory bodies.
Manage registration processes, documentation, and regulatory compliance.
Customer & Business Development:
Build and maintain relationships with farmers, distributors, and other stakeholders.
Conduct product demonstrations and trainings, and provide after-sales agronomic support.
Collect and analyse field data to guide product improvement and farmer adoption.
Sales & Execution:
Support the sales team in product positioning, market development, and sales execution.
Monitor input performance and prepare timely technical reports.
Team & Coordination:
Supervise and mentor field support staff.
Ensure effective collaboration between agronomy, sales, and regulatory teams.
