Job Description/Requirements
Our client is a leading Telecommunications and ICT infrastructure company specializing in Fiber Optic Network Deployment, Power Solutions, and Digital Connectivity Services across the East African region.
They are seeking a project manager to support projects being implemented across East Africa. This position will work in conjunction with the Department Heads and overall team.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
. Develop fiber network designs (FTTH, FTTx, Backbone, Metro) using design tools like AutoCAD, ArcGIS, or QGIS.
. Prepare as-built documentation and coordinate with construction teams.
. Conduct field surveys and feasibility studies.
. Delivery of timely and quality Transmission Solutions on Fiber and GPON technology, plans to be done as per the project schedule with the correct dimensioning of capacity thresholds, availability and reliability.
. Delivery of resilient FTTH/B Transmission Solutions and plans to meet current, medium and long-term requirements
. Compilation of Topology maps, schematics, Google earth routes, building entry points & floor plans in GIS formats.
. Overall Infrastructure resources utilization such as Fibre Materials, Spares, Bandwidths, Fibre Cores, Ducts to be maintained within KPI targets as per standards document.
. Budget estimation and project prioritization to meet Business needs and CAPEX budget justifications.
. Review of BOQs against the designs and to the Node (FTTx) Cost reconciliation for projects
. Flexible to work in any country in East Africa.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
. Degree in Telecommunications, Electrical, or Civil Engineering.
. Minimum 3 years’ experience in fiber network design.
. Proficiency in GIS and CAD tools.
. Good verbal and written communication skills along with strong facilitation and presentation skills.
. Should have strong PC skills.
. Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
. Able to work effectively under pressure.
. Flexible and able to multitask on several different aspects of a project or on multiple projects.
. Able to produce quality work with strict deadlines.
MONTHLY GROSS SALARY: Negotiable
