Job Description Tatu is a project of Rendeavour, Africa’s largest urban land developer with over 30, acres of visionary projects in the growth trajectories of large cities in Kenya, Ghana, Nigeria, Zambia and Democratic Republic of Congo. RESPONSIBILITIES:Overall responsibilities: Engage current and potential customers to understand the demand for FTTX connectivity requirements in the various precincts and projects.Forecast Fiber capacity requirements both for the short and medium term.Detailed design of FTTX, including on-site survey, cost analysis, design and engineering of network and optical designs and building BoQArticulating, conceptualizing and planning the design of the Tatu telecom network and MMR.Involved in the installation and maintenance of a Fiber Optics FTTX infrastructure.Ensure Fiber networks (OSP, ISP, OHL) are planned, designed, deployed and As-builts done to agreed standardsKeep up-to-date documentation on fiber route plans, splicing charts and core allocations.Perform regular FTTX tests, OTDR, CD/PMD, ORL, Power Meter, and scopes.Utilize existing and future fibre optics in a cost-effective manner while maximizing revenue generation, integrity, and reliability. REQUIREMENTSHard skills and experience: Bachelor’s degree in engineering/computer science or related field7 years of experience in FTTx network design and deploymentCisco Certified or related network certification.Proficient in using CAD programs, Google Earth, and GIS-related software.Competence in design methodology, process, and metricsCreate fibre distribution schematics that show fibre size and fibre distribution.
