About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and strategic Finance Manager to lead and manage our financial and accounting operations across multiple jurisdictions. This role provides financial leadership, ensures regulatory compliance, drives financial planning, and supports business growth through strong financial controls, reporting, and analysis.
The ideal candidate will have a solid background in accounting, taxation, and financial management, with proven experience in multi-entity or regional operations.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Accounting & Operations
- Oversee monthly financial close processes, including journals, accruals, provisions, and reconciliations.
- Maintain accurate general ledger accounts and robust internal controls.
- Ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulatory standards.
Financial Reporting & Analysis
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual management and statutory reports.
- Lead consolidated group financial reporting and intercompany eliminations.
- Conduct financial analysis, forecasting, scenario modelling, and cash flow management to support decision-making.
Audit, Compliance & Taxation
- Coordinate external audits and ensure timely completion of audit requirements.
- Oversee tax compliance, statutory filings, and regulatory submissions across all jurisdictions.
- Liaise with auditors, tax consultants, banks, and regulators.
- Monitor changes in financial and tax regulations and advise management accordingly.
Budgeting, Treasury & Payroll
- Lead annual budgeting and monitor performance against approved budgets.
- Manage treasury functions, liquidity, working capital, FX exposure, and banking relationships.
- Review and approve payroll processing, ensuring accuracy and statutory compliance.
Systems, Process Improvement & Leadership
- Optimize ERP and accounting systems and drive automation initiatives.
- Supervise, mentor, and develop finance team members.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align financial goals with organizational objectives.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- CPA-K qualification (mandatory); ACCA or CFA is an added advantage.
- Minimum 7 years’ experience in finance or accounting, with at least 3 years in a managerial role.
- Strong experience in IFRS, tax compliance, audits, and group consolidations.
- Experience in fintech, payments, or financial services is an added advantage.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong technical accounting and financial reporting expertise.
- Advanced proficiency in ERP systems and MS Excel.
- Excellent analytical, leadership, and communication skills.
- High integrity, attention to detail, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong understanding of financial and regulatory frameworks in Africa and globally.
