About the Role
Global Capability is seeking a detail-oriented Financial Modeller with experience in renewable energy project finance. You’ll be responsible for building, analysing, and maintaining complex financial models to support investment decisions, project valuations, and client advisory across solar, wind, and other clean energy projects.
The role involves working closely with international clients and stakeholders to assess feasibility, forecast performance, and evaluate risk-return profiles for renewable energy assets and portfolios.
Key Responsibilities
• Develop, maintain, and audit project finance models for renewable energy developments.
• Conduct financial analysis, cash flow forecasting, and sensitivity/scenario testing.
• Support valuation and investment appraisals using DCF, IRR, and NPV methodologies.
• Model project structures, including equity, debt, and hybrid financing arrangements.
• Prepare bankability models and support financing negotiations with lenders and investors.
• Integrate technical and operational assumptions from engineering and project teams into models.
• Produce clear reports, dashboards, and presentations summarising financial outcomes and recommendations.
• Stay current on market trends, renewable tariffs, and regulatory frameworks affecting project economics.
Required Skills & Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or related field (Master’s preferred).
• 3+ years’ experience in financial modelling, ideally within renewable energy, infrastructure, or project finance.
• Advanced Excel modelling skills, including VBA or other automation tools.
• Strong understanding of renewable energy project structures, PPAs, and funding mechanisms.
• Experience preparing investor-grade models with detailed revenue, cost, and financing assumptions.
• Ability to interpret technical data (generation forecasts, degradation rates, capacity factors) into financial outcomes.
• Excellent analytical, quantitative, and presentation skills.
Preferred Skills
• Experience with solar PV, wind, or hybrid project modelling.
• Familiarity with financial modelling software (e.g., Pivotal, Python, or Power BI).
• Knowledge of project financing instruments (debt, mezzanine, equity).
• Exposure to M&A or due diligence in the energy sector.
• Understanding of carbon credit markets or renewable energy certificates (RECs) is an advantage.
