Production of the existing and develop new consumer preferred products and flavors that are reproducible at commercial scale (quality and cost requirements, raw materials supply, adhering to regulatory guidelines, etc.)
Works with Marketing Team to ensure a continual flow of new products are in the future pipeline consistent with company strategic direction.
Partner with suppliers to monitor industry trends and evaluate ingredient or new flavor materials, product, processes and make recommendations for optimization based on project requirements.
Work closely with marketing team and outside testing resources on sensory evaluation. Make adjustments based on consumer feedback to ensure products exceed consumer expectations.
Maintain accurate records on all trials being performed.
Specific Knowledge and Skills
Degree in food technology of related course in recognized university
Minimum of 2 years’ experience in food production industry
Basic Product Development: Knowledge of product development process especially tomato source production
Cooking: Knowledge of commercial cooking processes and techniques.
Ingredients: Knowledge of key ingredient properties in general and those specifically used for source products.
Flavor Creation: Knowledge of flavor compounding and flavor creation and the ability to create and apply new flavor prototypes based on product briefs
Analytical Chemistry: Ability to utilize and apply analytical instruments to assist with flavor creation and nutritional problem solving
Good leadership skills
Driving license will be an added advantage
