Full Stack Engineer

We are looking for:

A part-time senior full stack engineer able to spare 5 hours/day to work on our project. 

About us:

We are a 5-year old Christian run Fintech business based in Nairobi, Kenya. Our faith in Jesus Christ’s work on the cross on our behalf greatly informs our values and culture. We seek to honour God by being faithful in our work and treating one another with much kindness and humility. We acknowledge God’s sovereignty over everything we encounter and this spurs our trust in His good will during the most uncertain times. 

Our why:

Majority of informal business owners cannot tell you how much money they made last month. It is impossible for them to keep track of the plethora of payments that stream in and out of their MPESA wallets on a day to day basis. This lack of financial awareness limits growth potential and spurs suboptimal decision making; for example borrowing funds at astronomical rates from predatory mobile lenders as opposed to debiting an emergency savings account when times get rough. 

Our how:

We hope to solve the problem above through our expense management mobile app. Much can be said about how it functions and what makes it different, but in the interest of keeping this short and sweet we’ll leave the details for later conversations with interested candidates. 

Requirements:

• Must be a committed Christian
• Bachelor's degree in computer science
• 5+ years development experience 
• Proficiency in front & backend Javascript frameworks and environments (we currently run on Angular & Node)
• Proficiency in designing scalable and cost effective architecture
• Familiarity with Git, CI/CD, Docker, and cloud platforms 
• Experience handling payment gateway integrations
