Job Summary
We are seeking an ambitious Graduate Trainee – Software Engineer to join our dynamic fintech engineering team. This role offers hands-on exposure to software development, system monitoring, API integration support, and quality assurance. The ideal candidate is tech-driven, curious, and eager to learn while contributing to real-world digital financial solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Support & Issue Resolution
- Provide first-line technical support by troubleshooting and resolving software and system issues.
- Log, track, and document incidents while ensuring timely escalation to senior engineers when needed.
- Monitor live systems, error logs, and operational performance to ensure platform stability.
System Monitoring & Maintenance
- Support monitoring of transaction flows, system uptime, and background processes.
- Assist in identifying performance bottlenecks and proposing optimization opportunities.
- Perform minor configuration updates and maintenance tasks under guidance.
API Integration Support
- Assist internal teams and clients with API integration processes.
- Work with developers and product teams to ensure proper API documentation and testing.
- Troubleshoot integration issues and provide structured support during client onboarding.
Testing & Quality Assurance (QA)
- Participate in feature testing, bug detection, and regression testing.
- Execute manual test cases and provide clear feedback to QA and engineering teams.
- Help maintain and improve test documentation and QA processes.
Documentation & Knowledge Management
- Prepare and update internal documentation, FAQs, and troubleshooting guides.
- Document recurring issues, solutions, and best practices.
- Maintain accurate records of test results, changes, and system updates.
Collaboration & Agile Participation
- Work with Product, QA, Customer Success, and Engineering teams to resolve issues quickly.
- Participate in stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives while learning agile workflows.
- Support basic code reviews, debugging, and research tasks under supervision.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, IT, or related field.
- Internship experience (0–1 year) in software development, technical support, or related areas.
- Basic understanding of JavaScript and Node.js is an added advantage.
- Familiarity with REST APIs, JSON, and web services.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
- High attention to detail, professionalism, and accountability.
- Willingness to learn, adapt, and grow in a fast-paced fintech environment.
- Exposure to fintech or payments technology is an added advantage.
