Job Description (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); The Export Processing Zones Authority (EPZA) is a State Corporation under the Ministry of Investments, Trade & Industry (MITI), established in by the EPZ Act CAP , Laws of Kenya.Reporting RelationshipsReports to: General Manager, Operations and InvestorDirect reports: Manager, Operations and Investor SupportAssistant Manager/Head of RegionAssistant Manager, Industrial Relations and Compliance Indirect reports: a) All staff in Investor Support DepartmentJob PurposeThe job holder is responsible for managing the Operations and Investor Support function for effective and efficient delivery of services and facilitation to EPZ investors.Key Responsibilities / Duties / TasksManagerial / Supervisory Responsibilities Develop work plans and budgets for the Department for approvalOversee the execution of the approved departmental work plans and budgetsOversee performance management in the departmentPrepare and submit all monthly, quarterly and annual reports for the departmentPrepare draft board management papers for approvalIdentify training needs for the departmental staffParticipate in the recruitment of staff within the departmentParticipate in the development and review of the Institution’s strategic planIdentify procurement needs of the departmentParticipate in various committees in the InstitutionRecommend expenditure for the investor support departmentPrepare monthly, quarterly and annual reports for the departmentMentor and coach staff in the departmentParticipate in the planning and implementation of the performance management programme Operational Responsibilities / Tasks Ensure implementation of investor support policies and proceduresEnsure compliance by EPZ Investors with Kenya legal requirementsLiaise with other government agencies for effective investor support facilitationEnsure provision of effective investor support services and facilitationEnsure compliance before renewal of EPZ Enterprise LicencesCoordinate operations of Regional OfficesEnsure compliance Audits are carried out in all EPZ Enterprises and DevelopersEnsure Sound Industrial Relations and best practices prevail in the EPZ EnterprisesEnsure timely settlement of industrial DisputesWork closely with other Government agencies to ensure harmonious working relations in the EPZ Enterprises.Undertake annual appraisals for staff in the department Job Dimensions:Financial Responsibility: Development of budgets for investor support departmentDevelop and monitor procurement for department.Recommend expenditure for the investor support department Responsibility for Physical Assets Responsible for physical assets assigned by the institution;Provide oversight for all the sectional physical assets Decision Making: Make strategic, operational and financial decisions for the departmentPlan the work of subordinates.Appraise/evaluate subordinates’ performance. Working conditions: Works in the officeInvolved in visits to EPZ EnterprisesMay be required to work beyond normal working hoursOn call from time to time Job Competencies (Knowledge, Experience and Attributes / Skills).Academic Qualifications Masters Degree Business Management/Administration or related field from a recognizedInstitutionBachelors’ Degree in Business Management/ Administration or related field from a recognized institution Professional Qualifications / Membership to professional bodies Leadership Course Lasting not less than 4 weeks from a recognized InstitutionMember of a professional bodyCertificate in computer proficiencyMeets the provision of chapter six of the Constitution Previous relevant work experience required. : Have nine years relevant experience with three experience in the position of Assistant Manager, Operations and Investor Support, Assistant Manager/Head of Region or Assistant Manager, Industrial Relations and Compliance or comparable position in the Public Service or reputable Organization.Behavioral Competencies/Attributes: Knowledge of Labour LawsLeadership skillsMarketing skillsNetworking skillsInterpersonal skillsCommunication skillsTeam leadershipCustomer careNegotiation skillsInnovation Remuneration: Minimum basic Salary Kshs ,.00 Maximum basic salary Kshs ,.00.
