Engage in strategic mineral prospecting, mining, and any other activities related strategic minerals; b. Engage in mineral prospecting and mining, and any other related activities; c. Invest on behalf of the national government; d. Acquire by agreement or hold interests in any undertaking, enterprise or project associated with the exploration, prospecting and mining; e. Acquire shares or interest in any firm, company or other body of persons, whether corporate or unincorporated, which is engaged in the mining, prospecting, refining, grading, producing, cutting, processing, buying, selling or marketing of minerals; and f. Carry on its business, operations and activities whether as a principal-agent, contractor or otherwise, and either alone or in conjunction with any other persons, firms or bodies corporate.Advert RefADVERT NO. NMC /23Duties and responsibilities will entail: Implementing procurement laws and guidelines;Ensuring compliance with public procurement and asset disposal act, , and regulations;Processing tender for procurement of goods and services as per laid down policies and procedures;Developing and implementing section work plans and budgets;Approving orders and requisitions;Liaising with legal and user departments in drawing and managing procurement contracts;Developing and implementing division work plans, budgets and programs;Developing procurement plans in liaison with users and as per the requirements and facilitate execution;Implementing of e-procurement strategies.Ensuring delivery of the right quality and quantity of goods, works and services;Coordinating the disposal of unserviceable stores as per the established regulations;Maintaining both manual and computerized database of procurement transactions at the Corporation;Implementing procurement systems for security and safe custody of the Corporation’s assets;Maintaining assets register as per the procurement and assets disposal act Job SpecificationFor appointment to this grade, an officer must have: At least eight years’ work experience in Supply Chain Management, three of which must have been in a senior management position;Bachelor’s degree in any of the following disciplines: Supply Chain Management, Procurement and Logistics, Commerce, Business Administration, Economics, or its equivalent qualifications from a recognized institution;Be a member of Kenya Institute of Supplies Management (KISM) or Certified Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS) and in good standing;Management Course lasting not less than four weeks from a recognized institution;Proficiency in Computer applications; andFulfilled the requirements of Chapter six of the Constitution Key Competencies and Skills Creative thinkingTeamworkPersistentDetail orientedAnalytical skillsResearch skills
