Reporting to: Manufacturing Projects Manager
Job Location: Ruiru, Kenya
Key Responsibilities:
• Supervise day-to-day production floor operations, including scheduling, staffing, and workflow management.
• Monitor production processes and performance metrics, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions.
• Coordinate with Materials Handling Teams to ensure availability of raw materials and components.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies to maintain a safe work environment.
• Train, mentor, and develop production staff to enhance skills, knowledge, and performance.
• Conduct performance evaluations, provide feedback, and address issues within the production team.
• Collaborate with engineering and quality assurance teams to resolve technical issues, improve product quality, and optimize processes.
• Implement Kaizen principles and continuous improvement initiatives to increase efficiency, reduce waste, and streamline operations.
• Prepare regular reports on production performance, including key metrics such as output, yield, and efficiency.
• Support New Product Introduction (NPI) activities, including training and trial production.
The ideal candidate should have:
• Degree in Electrical & Electronics Engineering or Manufacturing/Industrial Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of work experience in the electronics industry, including at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
• Proven experience in production supervision within electronics manufacturing, with knowledge of CKD/SKD processes and technology.
• Excellent leadership and managerial skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams.
• Solid knowledge of production planning, scheduling, and inventory management principles.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a focus on root cause analysis and continuous improvement.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with employees at all levels.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities.
• Knowledge of quality management systems, lean manufacturing principles, and safety regulations.
• Knowledge of Kaizen 6S principles and production machinery/assembly procedures.
• Excellent understanding of manufacturing safety protocols and regulations.
