Job Title: Project Coordinator (1)


Location: Kisumu County


Reports To: Principal Investigator


Job Summary:


The Project coordinator will overall site coordination, ensuring protocol compliance, regulatory adherence, and smooth day-to-day operations of the project.


Key Responsibilities:



  • Provides management oversight in the project through coordination and supervision of project activities and supervision of staff in the project.
  • Supports the development of project materials including data collection systems, Project SOPs, project work plans and training materials.
  • Plans, implements, monitors and evaluates project activities.
  • Supports dissemination of project information by preparing project reports on a regular basis, and all required project information to the management team and other program partners.
  • Acts as the key contact for the project by maintaining regular communication with members of the project management team.
  • Initiate and maintain collaboration with stakeholders.
  • Ensures program integration and growth by participating in county meetings and developing new project initiatives.
  • Supervision: Work independently on tasks related to project management with periodic reporting and direction from Principal Investigator.
  • Decision Making: Make decisions on the project implementation and its daily management.
  • Responsibility over research data or information: Has access to important research information and performance of the project.
  • Responsibility over assets: Proper management of financial resources and equipment
  • Responsibility over Staff: Responsibility to oversee all the project staff.
  • Undertakes other duties as may be assigned by the supervisor


 


Qualifications & Experience:



  • Must have minimum a Medical degree (MBChB, MD, or equivalent) with full registration and license to practice.
  • Must have Three (3) years’ experience in research, in HIV prevention and TB studies.
  • Must have experience in REDCAP
  • Must have 4 years prior experience in research Project coordination
  • Must have recent experience working in the Project sites (within the last 12 months).
  • Understanding of clinical research principles, GCP, ICH guidelines, and ethical regulations.
  • Must have Certification in Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and Human Subject protection (HSP) is required (or willingness to obtain before Project start).
  • Demonstrated ability to plan, lead, coordinate, and accomplish research activities
  • Strong analytic, organizational, written, and verbal communication skills


 


Skills & Competencies:



  • Strong clinical decision-making and patient care skills.
  • Excellent organizational, multitasking, and documentation abilities.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and electronic data capture systems (e.g., REDCap, Medidata, OpenClinica).


 


Working Conditions:



  • Willingness to work flexible hours including evenings/weekends when needed.
  • Position may require occasional travel for meetings or training.
  • May be called upon to support the Community Engagement Lead in explaining the Project to community members.
  • May participate in activities that support participant recruitment and retention.
  • May conduct or coordinate home visits for Project procedures when necessary.
  • And any other duties that may be assigned from time to time
