Job Description/Requirements
Our client, an established and well-known brand in manufacturing and retail business in the East, Central and Southern Africa region is seeking to find a Senior Manager with expertise and experience in the real estate/property, projects and contracts management field to execute those responsibilities in the said regions.
The candidate will represent the client’s interests on the ground, ensuring the projects are delivered to plan, within budget, and in full compliance with contractual, regulatory, and quality standards. This position bridges project execution, contract management, and stakeholder engagement to safeguard commercial objectives and mitigate risk throughout the development lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities:
· Oversee day-to-day progress of the projects, tracking performance against approved designs, schedules, and financial targets.
· Coordinate and align inputs from architects, engineers, consultants, contractors, and local authorities to ensure seamless execution and timely issue resolution.
· Review and interpret development, construction, and consultancy contracts, ensuring compliance with agreed terms, deliverables, and key milestones.
· Support the procurement and tendering process by assessing contract structures, risk allocation, and vendor performance.
· Verify and certify contractor and consultant claims, variations, and invoices in line with project progress and contractual obligations.
· Identify potential risks, delays, or cost deviations early and recommend corrective or preventive actions to keep the projects on track.
· Engage with local authorities to secure necessary permits and approvals, while maintaining strong relationships with regulatory bodies and community stakeholders.
· Provide ongoing reporting and advice to management on financial, legal, and operational aspects to support informed decision-making.
Qualifications & Experience
· Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Real Estate, or Law (a combined technical/legal background preferred).
· 7–10 years of experience in real estate development, construction monitoring, or project management.
· Strong understanding of real estate and construction contracts, including development and design–build agreements.
· Familiarity with land laws, permitting, and municipal approval processes in East and Southern Africa.
· Adaptable, resourceful, and effective across multiple countries and cultural contexts.
