Job Description (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); In , CURE International, in cooperation with the African Inland Church, opened the AIC-CURE International Hospital in Kijabe, Kenya. Along with being CURE’s first hospital, CURE Kenya was Africa’s first orthopedic pediatric teaching hospital for children with disabilities. The 30-bed hospital provides care for children suffering from a wide range of orthopedic conditions, such as clubfoot, burn contractures, osteomyelitis, and other acquired or congenital conditions. The hospital also conducts mobile clinics to identify children in remote areas who can be treated at the hospital and to provide follow-up care for those who have received surgery. Located in the Rift Valley city of Kijabe, the hospital attracts patients from every region of the country. Through the training of surgeons, nurses, and healthcare professionals, CURE Kenya aims to improve the country’s overall capacity to treat disabled children. Essential Duties Quality & Patient Safety documentation workflowSupport the development of Quality & Patient Safety policies and procedures.Liaise with relevant teams/ individuals for required policies/procedures/guidelines/protocols formulation.Review the content of above documents in line with Safe Care standard requirements to ensure they are addressed.Ensure that all documents have the correct approvals by the relevant authorized heads as per the document control policy.Ensure all documents are formatted and uploaded in the document repository and communicate to the CURE Hospital teams.Ensure all Quality & Patient Safety documents are controlled and branded in liaison with the relevant departments.Keep track of all Quality & Patient Safety document’s movement in each hospital, to include next revisions.Maintain confidentiality and privacy of all documents in collaboration with the CURE Hospitals’ QPS managers.Report progress on a weekly basis and document a monthly report.Internal and external Quality & Patient Safety audits/assessments coordinationMonitor internal QPS audits scheduling and implementation with the CURE hospitals’ QPS managers for each quarter.Schedule and coordinate external Quality and Patient Safety audits with the CURE hospitals’ QPS managers.Collate a master QPS audits schedule for all CURE hospitals.Analyze the network hospital audit scores and progress on a quarterly basis.Review and format the QPS internal audit tools on a regular basis as needed.Follow up corrective and preventive action plans with the CURE hospitals’ QPS managers.Maintain a master QPS risk register for CURE network hospitals and monitor implementation.Follow up on the implementation of clinical open and closed chart audits, to include analyses of the audit outcomes.Report progress on a weekly basis and document a monthly report.Support for Quality & Patient Safety data management and QI projectsDevelop and keep custody of QPS indicators data dashboard, to include the indicator’s definitions.Monitor data collection in liaison with the CURE hospitals QPS managers.Collate and analyze the data on a monthly and quarterly basis.Follow up progress of evidence-based practice QI projects.Report progress on a weekly basis and document a monthly report.Other dutiesParticipate in the QPS monthly quorums. Co-worker must perform other tasks, duties, and projects as assigned.RequirementsEducation/Experience Degree in Nursing/Clinical Medicine from a recognized institution.A minimum of 5 years of post-education experience.Experience in quality management certification or accreditation (SafeCare or JCIA).Experience in clinical policies and procedures formulation and document management.Christian maturity exhibiting a close relationship with the Lord as evidenced by a strong prayer life and a love for the Word. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Excellent analytical and writing skills.Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.Proficient in computer skills (MS-Word, Excel, PowerPoint).Numerate and proficient report writing skills.
