AFIDEP is a regional non-profit research and policy Institute whose mission is to institutionalize a culture of consistent use of evidence in public policy formulation and implementation to address various development challenges in Africa. Our work focuses on five thematic areas namely: Population Dynamics and Demographic Dividend, Health and Wellbeing, Transformative Education and Skills Development, Environment and Climate Change, and Governance and Accountability. 5. Research and Policy Analyst — (PhD in Spatial Epidemiology or Statistics)
The Research and Policy Analyst will develop the Institute's work on conducting spatial analyses and contribute to ongoing work focused on producing heat maps by conducting spatial epidemiological analyses of key health indicators from various health surveys.
The suitable candidate should have a PhD in either Epidemiology, or Statistics or related field and a minimum of 3 years' postdoctoral experience in research and conducting complex quantitative analyses.
The candidate should also have demonstrable experience in qualitative analysis, policy analysis and policy engagement, and in writing quality research reports, policy-oriented products, and journal publications.
