JOB TITLE:TALLY ACCOUNTANT

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Record all financial transactions in Tally ERP in a timely and accurate manner.
• Maintain the general ledger and ensure the accuracy of all journal entries.
• Monitor and manage daily cash flow and petty cash transactions.
• Prepare, process, and record supplier invoices and customer billings.
• Follow up on receivables and ensure timely collection of outstanding payments.
• Reconcile supplier statements and resolve invoice discrepancies.
• Prepare and reconcile bank statements on a weekly and monthly basis.
• Monitor and track company bank transactions and ensure all are accurately reflected in Tally.
• Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
• Maintain proper documentation for all financial transactions.
• Support the finance team in budgeting and forecasting activities.
• Calculate, prepare, and submit statutory deductions such as PAYE, SHIF, NSSF, and VAT.
• Ensure timely submission and payment of statutory obligations.
• Assist with audits and respond to inquiries from tax authorities when required.
• Maintain accounting files and records in an organized and accessible manner.
• Liaise with internal departments to resolve financial queries.
• Support the Finance Manager in other related accounting tasks as needed.

KEY REQUIREMENT SKILLS AND QUALIFICATION

• Diploma or Bachelor& Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field CPA Section 2 or higher is required
• Minimum of 2 years experience in a similar accounting role; experience in a logistics or transport company is an added advantage
• Proven proficiency in Tally ERP is mandatory
• Strong understanding of Kenyan tax laws and statutory requirements
• Excellent attention to detail, integrity, and analytical skills
• Ability to meet deadlines and work under minimal supervision
