The Tour and Travel Sales Consultant will be responsible for planning and executing seamless safari experiences, driving sales and profitability, and expanding market share. The role requires a customer-first approach, strong sales acumen, and excellent relationship management with both clients and industry partners.

Job Description/Requirements
Key Responsibilities:
Sales & Finance
- Achieve sales and profitability targets for safaris and excursions.
- Prepare competitive safari costings and budgets that ensure healthy profit margins.
- Negotiate STO rates and build strong relationships with accommodation facilities and service providers.
- Track operational expenses to ensure alignment with approved budgets.
- Manage client payments and ensure timely collections.
Client Management
- Develop customized itineraries that meet client needs.
- Manage client bookings, planning, and execution of safaris.
- Provide pre-safari briefings, meet-and-greet, and post-safari debriefings.
- Maintain strong client relationships before, during, and after safaris to encourage repeat business and referrals.
Business Processes
- Manage the full sales cycle including opening sales files, tracking data, and reporting on sales performance.
- Develop, package, and promote competitive safari and excursion offerings.
- Prepare and present monthly and annual sales reports.
Marketing & Business Development
- Contribute to the development and execution of marketing strategies.
- Represent the company at marketing events and trade shows.
- Conduct competitor and market research to identify opportunities.
- Collaborate with marketing and admin teams to ensure company social media platforms are up to date and engaging.
- Continuously improve marketing activities by learning from industry trends and competitors.
Industry & Partner Relations
- Foster strong relationships with accommodation facilities, suppliers, tourism stakeholders (KWS, tour associations, DMCs, etc.).
- Maintain healthy industry networks to enhance service delivery and secure competitive rates.
Required Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree or Higher Diploma in Hospitality Management or related field.
- 2–3 years’ proven experience in tours & travel sales within the tourism industry.
- Strong knowledge of safari bookings, marketing platforms, and major safari circuits in Kenya and Eastern Africa.
- Excellent safari itinerary formulation and management skills.
- Results-driven, customer-oriented, and passionate about travel and hospitality.
- Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and influencing skills.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and interpersonal abilities; a team player.
- Conflict resolution and problem-solving skills with the ability to create win–win outcomes.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Tech-savvy with knowledge of digital marketing and safari systems.
- A valid driving license (manual & automatic) is an added advantage.
