Job summary
We are recruiting an experienced, qualified home tutor to deliver the Cambridge IGCSE curriculum to two learners at Key Stage 1 (Year 1) and Key Stage 2 (Year 2) level, based at the client's home in Nairobi. The tutor will be responsible for teaching both English and Mathematics across two structured, 2-hour shifts per day.

Job descriptions & requirements
- Plan and deliver structured English and Mathematics lessons aligned to the Cambridge IGCSE / Cambridge Primary curriculum for Year 1 and Year 2 learners
- Conduct two 2-hour teaching shifts per day (morning session and mid-afternoon session), with lesson plans tailored to each shift
- Assess each learner's starting level and track progress against Key Stage 1/2 learning outcomes
- Use age-appropriate teaching methods for early learners, including phonics-based reading instruction and hands-on numeracy activities
- Prepare simple progress reports/updates for the parent on a regular basis
- Maintain a safe, engaging, and disciplined learning environment in the home setting
- Communicate professionally with the parent/guardian regarding scheduling, progress, and any learning concerns
- Bring/prepare own teaching materials, worksheets, and resources where needed, in line with the curriculum
