This Request for Expression of Interest (REOI) follows the GeneralProcurement Notice for this Project that appeared on the African DevelopmentBank Groupâs Internet Website() 12th August 2022.
has received financing from theAfrican Development Fund toward the cost of the Technologies for AfricanAgricultural Transformation (TAAT) Phase II and intends to apply part of theagreed amount for this grant to payments under the contract for TAAT OrangeFleshed Sweet Potato (OFSP) Value ChainTechnology Transfer Officer who will be based in one of TAAT and CIP priority countries in Sub-SaharaAfrica (Ethiopia, Kenya, Malawi, Mozambique, Rwanda, Uganda).
The Consultant will be a member of the OFSPCompact Team and will assist in the identification of business partners in eachcountry in which TAAT will be implemented and provide expertise necessary forsuccessful implementation of value chain compact activities, in closecollaboration with country value chain implementation teams. Specifically, he/shewill coordinate the development of TAAT technologies adoption work plans ineach country; together with country leaders and Value Chain Specialist, assistin the identification of business partners in each country in which TAAT willbe implemented; provide expertise necessary for successful implementation ofvalue chain compact activities, in close collaboration with country value chainimplementation teams; assist in thepreparation of food technology outreach campaigns in each country ofimplementation; provide expertise in approaches necessary to deploytechnologies, according to the defined target areas, mobilising all actorsacross the value chain; facilitate the implementation of the value chainactivities in all target countries and participate in the monitoring ofprogress made towards achieving value chain and TAAT-set goals; providetechnical and business support to all value chain public and private sectorpartners in each participating country and ensure that they are fully andactively engaged; work with Forum for Agricultural Research in Africa (FARA) toensure that capacity is built in all needed areas for various stakeholderswithin the value chain; work with young Agripreneurs in each country ofimplementation through demonstration and training, in close collaboration withthe ENABLE-TAAT Compact; ensure that quarterly and annual consolidatedtechnical and financial reports for the Compact are prepared and submitted tothe value chain coordinator office on schedule; carry out any other duties asmay be assigned by the Value Chain Specialist and/or Institutional ManagementOffice to meet the objectives of the value chain.
