Job summary
To provide preventive, diagnostic, and basic curative veterinary services, promote animal health and welfare.
Job descriptions & requirements
1. Maintain high standards of hygiene and infection control to prevent the spread of diseases amongst animals.
2.Diagnose common animal diseases and recommend appropriate treatment.
3.Administer vaccines, medications, and deworming treatments.
4.Perform minor surgical procedures within the scope of practice.
5.Conduct disease surveillance and report disease outbreaks.
6.Carry out routine health inspections of animals.
7.Collect blood, tissue, and other samples for laboratory analysis.
8.Maintain accurate treatment, vaccination, and livestock health records.
9.Ensure proper handling and storage of veterinary medicines and vaccines.
10.Promote animal welfare and biosecurity measures.
11.Participate in livestock production, breeding, and disease prevention programs.
Qualifications:
1.Certificate or Diploma in Veterinary Medicine, Animal Health, or a related field.
Skills and Competencies:
1.Knowledge of animal diseases and treatment.
2.Animal handling and restraint skills.
3.Good communication.
4.Problem-solving and decision-making ability.
5.Record-keeping and report writing.
6.Ability to work independently and in field conditions.
7.Basic computer literacy.
8. Observant.
