The position's primary tasks include an overall responsibility for vehicles, camping and vehicle equipment, workshop and workshop staff in East Africa.They will ensure the vehicles are in safe, clean and appropriately branded condition, operating in compliance with East African law. • Overall responsibility for vehicles/workshop/workshop staff in East Africa• Assist the Fleet team in the monitoring and checking that the following permits are valid - vehicle insurance and vehicle operating permits, licenses, carnets and 6 months road worthies, cross border permits to be in compliance with the laws of East Africa.• Manage and run the workshop premises and all related aspects relevant to vehicle maintenance, fleet & equipment management.• The management of funds needed for vehicle and equipment maintenance.• Ensure maintenance of vehicles through maintenance of up-to-date vehicle log books, andoverseeing drivers' log books and accounts with particular interest in fuel management andeconomy, vehicle check-in and out and post and pre tour departures safety checklist sign off.• Ensure the maintenance and repair of camping equipment through vehicle check in and out.• Manage the safety, defects and vehicle damage reports and record, track and monitor costs.• Supervision of cleaning and packing vehicles and communicating the ordering of spare parts and equipment to the Diesel Technician in Cape Town.• Responsible for dry food stocks, warehouse stocktaking, accounting and invoices related to above.• Consistency of vehicle branding according to G Adventures' brand policy.• Project manage/supervise new vehicle builds as required.• Provide new drivers/CEOs with basic mechanic skills training.• Work closely with the CEO Manager on discipline regarding any breaches of the legal requirements when driving a vehicle and CEO performance in accordance with the requirements of the law, the vehicle supplier and G Africa.• Assist and help manage on road vehicle breakdowns and rescues in the East African region.• Conduct business trips within East Africa and other local workshops as required.• Assist in future business developments in East Africa.• Assist CEO Management in tour fund management and Driver’s funds as needed.• Assisting with all CEO related administration. Including but not limited to CEO payroll, all facets of CEO accounts processes, systems access and constant communication between CEO Management and CEOs.• Act as an ambassador and role model of the G Adventures core values. • Carry out brainstorming sessions, and ongoing meetings with CEOs based on the needs of the CEO Department.• Assist CEO Management in complaint investigation and resolution including efficient communications with all parties involved.• Daily reading of customer evaluation forms and reporting to the CEO Department and Fleet department or actioning as necessary.What do we offer you?Competitive salary commensurate with the roleCompetitive benefits package Birthday day offVacation time for you to rechargeEnhanced Parental LeaveLearning and growth opportunities*Applicable based on location*G Adventures is an equal opportunity employer committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive work environment.
