About Us
Grassroots nest for Innovations and Change (GRiC) is a locally led non-profit organization that partners with grassroots organizations to create a network of agencies and stakeholders that promotes quality education for children and youth in East Africa. We are a hub for supporting community-based organizations (CBOs) and community-led innovations for long-lasting change and transformation of education for children and youth in marginalized populations. By investing in community-led initiatives, we expect that all children, both girls and boys, we serve will grow holistically, access quality education, and thrive in a fast-changing world. By building systems at the community level, we channel resources to the grassroots where they are most needed, and the gains made will be sustained once external support ends.
Key Responsibilities
Program Management
❖ Participate in training, coaching, and mentoring teachers in program
❖ Support in developing the program’s work plans and budgets while ensuring timely delivery of high- quality program deliverables at both GRIC and partner levels.
❖ Participate in report writing.
❖ Support in coordinating with procurement, logistics, administration and human resources teams to ensure systems support field-based activities.
❖ Participate in grant writing and fund-raising.
Capacity strengthening of local partner organizations:
❖ Support partners in proposal writing, program implementation and report writing.
❖ Participate in identifying partners’ capacity gaps and development of capacity strengthening plans, training modules, and support services to fill the gaps.
❖ Participate in training, coaching and mentoring staff of partner organizations, and designing and supporting learning communities.
Candidate Profile
❖ A bachelor’s degree in education, gender and development or related field.
❖ Experience in the use and application TaRL methodology, training and coaching teachers, strengthening grassroots organizations, participatory approaches, and working with the government
❖ Good training, coaching and mentorship skills.
❖ Excellent planning, analytical, networking, writing and verbal communication skills.
❖ Excellent computer skills.

Salary for this position is commensurate with experience.
