Accountant Net Salary : KES 35,000 Location: Kitui, Kenya Role Summary Our client in the hotel industry is looking for an experienced Hotel Accountant to oversee financial accounting operations, ensure accurate reporting, maintain compliance with Kenyan tax regulations, and support effective financial controls and budgeting within the hotel
Job descriptions & requirements
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• CPA(K) or equivalent professional qualification
• 3–5 years’ accounting experience, including hotel/hospitality experience
• Proficiency in accounting systems such as Opera or SunSystems
• Strong knowledge of Kenyan tax laws, VAT, PAYE, and statutory compliance
• Excellent analytical, Excel, communication, and leadership skills
Responsibilities:
• Prepare financial statements, reports, and monthly reconciliations
• Manage accounts payable, receivable, and general ledger functions
• Ensure compliance with VAT, PAYE, corporate tax, and statutory filings
• Monitor financial controls, transactions, and risk management processes
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis activities
• Supervise accounting staff and ensure timely financial processing
