Position Summary
We are seeking a highly organized, experienced, and professional female Accountant to manage the company's accounting and financial operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing invoices, monitoring receivables and payables, ensuring compliance with Kenyan accounting and tax regulations, and providing timely financial reports to management. The ideal candidate should have strong knowledge of the Kenyan accounting system, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work independently while maintaining the highest standards of integrity and confidentiality.
Key Responsibilities
Accounting Duties
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date accounting records.
• Prepare and issue customer invoices.
• Record all sales, purchases, receipts, and payments. • Manage accounts receivable and follow up on outstanding customer payments.
• Process supplier invoices and manage accounts payable.
• Reconcile bank accounts and company cash records.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
• Assist in preparing budgets and financial forecasts.
• Maintain proper filing of all accounting documents.
Tax & Compliance
• Ensure compliance with Kenyan accounting standards and tax regulations.
• Prepare and assist with VAT, corporate tax, PAYE, and other statutory filings. • Liaise with external auditors, tax consultants, and regulatory authorities when required.
• Maintain proper documentation for audits and financial inspections. Financial Administration • Monitor company expenses and ensure proper authorization.
• Prepare payment vouchers and process approved payments. • Maintain accurate records of company assets and financial transactions.
• Assist management with financial analysis and decision-making.
• Support inventory reconciliation by coordinating with the Secretary & Stock Controller to ensure accounting records match physical stock movements.
Reporting
• Prepare weekly and monthly financial reports.
• Generate customer statements and aging reports. • Report any financial discrepancies immediately.
• Provide management with timely financial information and recommendations.
Qualifications
• Female candidate. • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years' experience in accounting.
• Strong knowledge of the Kenyan accounting and taxation system.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office.
• Experience with accounting software (such as QuickBooks, Sage, ERP systems, or similar)
. • Professional accounting qualifications (CPA-K or equivalent) will be an added advantage.
• Excellent command of English, both spoken and written.
