ACCOUNTANT ASSISTANT NOBEL
Job summary
The Accountant Assistant supports the microfinance institution by handling daily financial transactions. They manage loan disbursement records, track customer repayments, maintain accurate financial ledgers, and ensure compliance with Central Bank of Kenya (CBK) and statutory guidelines.
Job descriptions & requirements
- Loan & Savings Tracking: Record daily customer loan disbursements and loan repayments.
- Data Entry: Post financial transactions and deposit balances into the core banking system.
- Reconciliations: Perform daily bank reconciliations and match mobile money (Paybill) transactions.
- Accounts Payable: Process supplier payments and manage the branch petty cash fund.
- Statutory Compliance: Assist in preparing and filing VAT, PAYE, WHT, NSSF, and SHIF returns.
- Regulatory Reporting: Help compile weekly or monthly financial reports for management and regulators.
- Record Keeping: Maintain organized physical and digital files for all financial and loan documents.
- Education: Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Banking.
- Certification: Minimum CPA Part II qualification.
- Experience: 1–3 years of accounting experience, preferably in a microfinance or related field
- Skills: Proficiency in core banking/microfinance software and Advanced Excel.
- Competencies: High mathematical accuracy, strong integrity, and attention to detail.
