The Accountant Is Responsible For Executing Day To Day Accounting Operations, Maintaining Accurate Financial Records, And Supporting The Financial Management Functions Of The Organization. This Role Involves Processing Financial Transactions, Preparing Account Reconciliations, Managing Accounts Payable And Receivable, And Ensuring Compliance With Accounting Standards And Internal Policies. The Accountant Works Closely With Senior Finance Team Members To Deliver Timely And Accurate Financial Information, Support Month-End And Year End Closing Processes, And Maintain The Integrity Of The Organizations Financial Records.

Requirements:
- Bachelors Degree In Accounting, Finance, Commerce, Or Related Field Required.
- Professional Accounting Qualification (Cpa-K, Acca, Or Equivalent) In Progress Or Completed; At Least Cpa Part Ii. Strong Knowledge Of Accounting Principles, Ifrs, And Financial Reporting Standards.
- Proficiency In Accounting Software And Erp Systems (Experience With Navision, Microsoft Dynamics, Or Similar Preferred).
- Strong Excel Skills Including Formulas, Pivot Tables, And Data Analysis.
- Understanding Of Tax Regulations Including Vat, Withholding Tax, And Corporate Tax.
Experience:
- Minimum Of 3 Years Accounting Experience In A Busy Environment, Preferably In Insurance Or Financial Services.
- Experience With Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, And General Ledger Accounting.
- Experience In Bank Reconciliations, Month-End Closing, And Financial Reporting.
Salary: Kshs. 100,000 - 110,000 Plus Company Benefits
Responsibilities: -
- Accounts Receivable & Collections: Prepare And Issue Premium Invoices, Monitor Accounts Receivable Aging Reports, Follow Up On Outstanding Payments, And Coordinate With Business Development Teams On Collection Efforts For High Value Accounts.
- Bank Reconciliations & Cash Management: Reconcile All Bank Accounts Daily, Investigate And Resolve Reconciling Items, Maintain Petty Cash Fund, Monitor Cash Balances, And Prepare Cash Flow Reports For Management Monitoring.
- Month End & Year End Closing Support: Prepare Journal Entries For Month End Adjustments, Reconcile Balance Sheet Accounts, Assist In Preparing Financial Statements And Supporting Schedules, And Support Senior Finance Team In Meeting Closing Deadlines.
- Premium & Commission Reconciliation: Reconcile Premium Transactions With Insurance Carriers, Brokers, And Clients, Account For Commissions Payable And Receivable, Process Commission Payments, And Maintain Detailed Records Of Policy Transactions For Accurate Revenue Recognition.
- Payroll Processing & Employee Reimbursements: Collect And Verify Timesheets And Attendance Records, Calculate Gross Pay And Deductions, Process Monthly Payroll Ensuring Timely Payment Of Salaries And Statutory Remittances, And Process Employee Expense Reimbursements.
- Tax Compliance & Statutory Filings:Prepare Monthly And Quarterly Vat Returns, Calculate And Process Withholding Tax, Prepare Tax Returns, Support Corporate Tax Computations, And Maintain Tax Records To Support Compliance And Respond To Tax Queries.
- Fixed Assets Management & Depreciation: Record Asset Acquisitions, Update The Fixed Assets Register For Transfers And Disposals, Calculate Monthly Depreciation Charges, Post Depreciation Entries, And Support Physical Verification Of Assets.
- Audit Support & Financial Reporting:Prepare Audit Schedules And Supporting Documentation, Respond To Auditor Queries, Generate Financial Reports Including Trial Balances And Management Reports, And Conduct Variance Analysis For Management Decision Making.
