Animal Health Technician with Artificial Insemination Certification - Siaya

Job Location: Siaya

We are seeking an experienced and knowledgeable Animal Health Technician with certification in Artificial Insemination to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing animal healthcare services, including artificial insemination, vaccination, routine health checks, and emergency care. The successful candidate should be able to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities:

● Conducting artificial insemination procedures on various animal species, including cattle, pigs, horses, and sheep

● Performing routine health checks on animals, including diagnosing and treating illnesses and injuries

● Administering vaccinations and medications as needed

● Monitoring animal health, including tracking health records and reporting any issues to management

● Collaborating with veterinarians and other animal healthcare professionals to develop treatment plans

● Assisting with emergency care, including performing CPR, providing first aid, and stabilizing animals for transportation to a veterinary clinic

● Maintaining inventory of medical supplies and equipment and ordering new supplies as needed

● Maintaining accurate records of animal health and treatment history

● Providing guidance and training to other team members on animal healthcare practices and procedures

Qualifications:

● Certification in Artificial Insemination is required

● Associate degree or higher in animal science, veterinary technology, or related field

● Minimum of 2 years of experience as an animal health technician or related field

● Strong knowledge of animal anatomy, physiology, and behavior

● Demonstrated proficiency in conducting artificial insemination procedures on multiple animal species

● Experience with administering vaccinations and medications, performing health checks, and maintaining health records

● Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

● Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment

● Willingness to work outside of regular business hours, including weekends and holidays

● Certification from Kenya board of veterinary board
