ASSISTANT PROJECT MANAGER
Job summary
The Assistant Project Manager will support the Project Manager in the planning, coordination, and execution of Prime Telecoms' projects across ICT, electrical, surveillance, GSM, and FTTX service lines, helping ensure projects are delivered efficiently, safely, and to the expected quality standards.

Key Responsibilities
Support the Project Manager in developing project plans, schedules, and resource allocations for assigned projects.
Coordinate day-to-day project activities with site supervisors, technical teams, and subcontractors.
Track project progress against schedules and budgets, flagging deviations and supporting corrective action planning.
Assist in the preparation of project documentation, including reports, minutes, procurement requests, and progress trackers.
Support monitoring of project costs and expenditures, assisting with budget reconciliation and variation tracking.
Liaise with clients, suppliers, and internal departments to follow up on project requirements, approvals, and deliverables.
Assist in coordinating logistics and procurement of materials and equipment required for project execution.
Support the Project Manager in ensuring project sites comply with EHS and quality standards.
Participate in project meetings, prepare minutes, and follow up on assigned action points.
Assist in compiling project close-out documentation and handover packages.
Step in to support project coordination in the Project Manager's absence, escalating critical issues as needed.
Qualifications & Requirements
Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Telecommunications Engineering, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Project Management, or a related field.
A Project Management certification (PMP, PRINCE2, CAPM, or equivalent) is an added advantage.
Minimum 2–4 years' experience supporting project delivery in telecommunications, ICT, electrical, or infrastructure sectors.
Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and familiarity with project management tools (e.g., MS Project) is an advantage.
Basic understanding of telecommunications infrastructure (GSM, FTTX) and/or electrical and surveillance systems is desirable.
Valid driving license and willingness to travel to project sites across East Africa.
