Role.
You will take responsibility for the delivery of TC4A’s new and expanding engagements
while building the operational systems and discipline that support the wider programme
portfolio.
On programme delivery, you will lead the day-to-day execution of new country
programmes and new engagements with pharmaceutical companies, foundations and
multilateral organisations.
You will manage workplans, budgets, timelines and reporting, and lead the working relationship with client programme teams.
On operations, you will establish and maintain the systems that allow TC4A to manage a
growing portfolio effectively: a live workplan for every project, a clearly identified owner for every deliverable, a milestone-to-invoice map that Finance can act on, and programme documentation that can withstand client, donor or partner scrutiny.
The CEO will continue to lead the overall commercial and executive relationship with
clients.
Your responsibility is to ensure that the work underpinning those relationships is delivered on time, within scope and to the quality we have committed to.Your responsibility is to ensure that the work underpinning those relationships is delivered on time, within scope and to
the quality we have committed to.
What You Will Own
1. New and expanding engagements. Lead the delivery of TC4A’s newest programmes
and the expansion of existing programmes into additional markets. You will own
workplans, budgets, timelines, reporting and delivery coordination; ensure milestones are achieved; and identify and escalate risks early enough for corrective action to be taken.
2. Operating discipline across the portfolio. Build and maintain the operational
discipline required for a growing multi-country portfolio. Every engagement should have a current workplan, a clearly named owner for each deliverable, and a milestone-to-invoice map that Finance can use to manage billing and cash flow. You will also ensure that
programme documentation, partner and vendor agreements, ethics and regulatory
documentation, and other core project records are organised, current and readily
accessible. We regard this discipline as fundamental to our ability to scale.
3. Client working relationships. For the engagements you manage, lead routine client
working calls and take responsibility for follow-through on agreed actions. You will serve as the principal day-to-day counterpart for client programme teams, maintain clarity on
commitments and timelines, and recognise when a request falls outside the agreed scope of work. Where this occurs, you will escalate appropriately rather than allowing scope
changes to be absorbed informally into delivery.
4. Deliverable review. Provide the first level of quality assurance before programme
outputs are shared with clients, including training content, protocols, assessments, patient materials and reports. You will confirm that outputs are complete, internally consistent,
professionally presented and aligned with the agreed brief. This is a quality, completeness and programme-alignment review rather than a clinical sign-off; final clinical oversight
remains with the CEO.
5. Country delivery. Work through TC4A’s country leads to ensure effective programme
delivery across our operating markets. You will define what your engagements require
from country teams, establish clear expectations and hold teams accountable for delivery
standards. As TC4A’s portfolio and country presence expand, direct line management of
country teams may become an increasing part of this role.
What Success Looks Like
● New engagements are launched and delivered on time.
● Every live engagement has an up-to-date workplan, a clearly identified owner for every deliverable, and a milestone-to-invoice map that Finance can act on.
● Clients regard you as their primary working-level counterpart and have confidence in
the quality and reliability of programme delivery.
● No deliverable reaches a client without appropriate internal review.
● Programme documentation is consistently maintained to a standard that could
withstand a client or partner audit without significant preparation.
● Delivery processes are sufficiently consistent and repeatable that TC4A can enter a
new
market without rebuilding its operating approach from the ground up.
Requirements
● 5–8 years of experience delivering health programmes, including global health
implementation, donor-funded programming, pharmaceutical or medical affairs
programmes, clinical research operations, or related areas.
● Experience delivering programmes across more than one country, including working
through in-country teams, implementing partners or external stakeholders.
● Experience managing people, ideally including remote or distributed teams.
● Experience managing programme budgets and reporting to the standards expected by a funder, donor or commercial client, with a clear understanding of how programme
milestones connect to invoicing and financial management.
● A degree in a health or life sciences discipline, such as public health, biomedical
sciences, life sciences, nursing, nutrition or a related field. Please note that this role is not designed for candidates whose primary degree/professional qualification is
in clinical medicine and dentistry given the current composition of our team.
● Sufficient scientific and health-sector grounding to engage credibly in technical
discussions with clinicians and identify when content requires further technical review.
● Strong written communication skills and the ability to produce high-quality workplans,
client reports, programme documentation and proposal sections under time pressure.
Added Advantages
The following would be advantageous but are not required:
● Experience working with pharmaceutical clients, particularly in market access, medical affairs or related functions.
● Experience working in or alongside a technology or digital product team.
● Previous experience in a health technology start-up or scale-up environment.
● French-language proficiency, given TC4A’s growing West Africa footprint.
Location
Nairobi, Kenya, with travel across TC4A’s operating markets.
