In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate data within our core banking system, managing transactional receipts, and assisting with monthly statutory payroll and tax filings. You will work closely with the Operations team, maintaining flexibility to support core business administrative tasks as operational demands shift. The ideal candidate has high attention to detail, strong computer literacy, and a willingness to learn Kenyan statutory filing procedures.
Duties and Responsibilities
Data Entry: Perform accurate and timely data entry of client records, loan schedules, and financial transactions into the MIFOS core banking system.
Receipt Management: Collect, verify, and consolidate transactional receipts, maintaining a clean, up-to-date log of all financial documents.
Payment Processing: Prepare and submit verified receipt batches and payment requests to operations management for approval and disbursement.
Statutory Compliance Support: Assist in preparing and compiling data for monthly statutory obligations, including SHA (Social Health Authority), NSSF, PAYE, AHL (Affordable Housing Levy), NITA, and Withholding Tax (WHT) for our consultant.
Operations Collaboration: Work hand-in-hand with the Operations and Credit teams to ensure seamless information flow, helping resolve data discrepancies or documentation gaps.
Flexible Operational Support: Undertake general administrative, customer service, or basic front-office operational duties as assigned when data entry and compliance workloads reduce.
Requirements and Skills
Experience: Entry-level. Previous experience in data entry, clerical work, or an internship within an office environment is an asset but not required.
Education: Diploma or Certificate in Business Administration, Information Technology, Secretarial Studies, or a related field. (CPA/ACCA qualifications are NOT required for this role).
Technical Skills: Strong computer literacy with proficiency in MS Excel/Google Sheets and a fast typing speed. Willingness and ability to quickly learn the MIFOS core banking system.
Attention to Detail: Exceptional accuracy in data entry and record-keeping, with a proven ability to catch small mistakes before submitting work.
Organization: Good organizational and time-management skills to ensure strict timelines—especially around monthly statutory deadlines—are met.
Adaptability: A proactive, flexible mindset with the willingness to step into diverse administrative tasks and support the operations team where needed.
