Job Summary

The Engineering Stores Officer will be responsible for managing, controlling, and optimizing all engineering spare parts, consumables, and related inventory for the can manufacturing plant. The role ensures accuracy in stock management, timely availability of materials, and compliance with company procedures while utilizing SAP as the main system for inventory control and reporting.

Job Description/Requirements

Key Responsibilities

· Manage day-to-day operations of the engineering stores, including receiving, issuing, and safekeeping of spare parts and consumables.

· Maintain accurate inventory records in SAP by ensuring timely posting of receipts, issues, stock adjustments, and returns.

· Monitor stock levels to avoid stock-outs and overstocking, and generate stock replenishment requests as per defined reorder levels.

· Conduct regular stock counts, cycle counts, and reconciliation of physical versus system stock in SAP.

· Work closely with the procurement and engineering teams to forecast spare parts requirements and align with maintenance schedules.

· Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and safety standards within the store operations.

· Identify obsolete, slow-moving, or non-moving stock and recommend appropriate actions.

· Prepare and share periodic reports on stock movements, consumption trends, and stock valuation.

· Support audits (internal and external) by providing accurate documentation and reports.

· Ensure proper storage, labeling, and preservation of engineering materials to maintain quality and usability.

· Drive continuous improvement initiatives in stores management, with focus on SAP system optimization and process efficiency.

 

Key Qualifications & Experience

· Degree in Supply Chain Management, Stores Management, Engineering, or related field.

· Minimum 5 -7 years’ experience in engineering stores management within a manufacturing or industrial environment.

· Proficiency in SAP (MM/WM modules preferred) for inventory management is a must.

· Strong knowledge of engineering spare parts, consumables, and industrial equipment.

· Demonstrated experience in inventory control, stock analysis, and reporting.

· Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards in stores operations.
