Position : Farm Agronomist 
Location: Isinya 
Salary: 35,000 (Gross) 
 
Job Description 
The Farm Agronomist will be responsible for managing and improving crop production systems by  applying scientific knowledge in soil management, crop nutrition, pest control, irrigation, and sustainable  agricultural practices. The role ensures optimal yield, crop quality, and compliance with environmental  and safety standards while supporting operational efficiency and productivity targets. 

Key Responsibilities 
1.Develop and implement crop production plans aligned with company targets. 
2.Conduct soil analysis and recommend appropriate fertilization programs. 
3.Monitor crop growth stages and provide technical guidance on best agronomic practices. 
4.Recommend suitable crop varieties based on soil type, climate, and market demand. 
5.Supervise planting, cultivation, irrigation, and harvesting activities. 
6.Develop and implement pest management strategies. 
7.Recommend appropriate agrochemicals and ensure safe application. 
8.Monitor irrigation schedules and water usage efficiency. 
9.Recommend improvements in irrigation systems and water conservation methods. 
10.Conduct field trials and evaluate new seed varieties and agronomic techniques. 
11.Maintain accurate records of crop performance, inputs, and yields. 
12.Analyze data and provide reports to Top Management with recommendations for  improvement. 
13.Promote sustainable farming practices. 
14.Provide technical guidance and training to farm supervisors and field staff. 
15.Support management in strategic agricultural planning. 

Qualifications and Experience 
1.Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Agronomy, Crop Science, Horticulture, Soil Science, or a  related Agricultural field. 
2.Minimum of 2 years’ experience in crop production or commercial farming. 
3.Experience in large-scale agricultural operations is preferred. 
4.Strong knowledge of crop production systems. 
5.Proficiency in soil analysis and nutrient management. 
6.Ability to analyze agricultural data and prepare technical reports.
