Job summary

The Farm Supervisor is a great opportunity for one to join a small, new company which is exploring farming in Kwale County. The Farm Supervisor will be responsible for managing all farm operations and day-to-day activities related to production and harvesting of passion fruit, honey, sugar cane on approx. 50 acres. The farm has plans to expand the area under farming and to introduce additional agricultural products. Currently, the farm which is 85 acres, has 5 full time staff and hires up to 20 casual laborers as needed.

The monthly pay is: KES 20K – 30K per month.

Job Skills & Qualifications

1. Diploma in Agriculture, minimum

2. Minimum, 3 to 5 years experience in Agricultural production

3. 1 to 2 years supervising farm workers and laborers, ideal

4. Experience in growing of herbs and/or passion fruit would be an added advantage

5. Knowledge of health and safety matters, required

6. Ability to work with minimal supervision

7. Leadership skills 

Job Description

1. Day to day management of general agriculture activities at the farms

2. Preparation of land, planting and general crop management up to maturity and harvesting

3. Management of farm stores including farm implements

4. Ensuring that proper records and documentation are maintained  

5. Supervision of staff at the farms
