Job Title: Fleet & Transport Manager
Location: Kiambu County
Note: Fluency in Arabic, Hindi, Punjabi, or Gujarati is a required skill for this role due to the nature of supplier communications and stakeholder engagement.
This position is open to Kenyan nationals only.
Job Purpose
To oversee the efficient, safe, and cost-effective management of the company's fleet and transport operations by optimizing vehicle utilization, ensuring timely maintenance, managing transport teams and vendors, and driving operational excellence to support business objectives.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
• Oversee the day-to-day management of the company's fleet and transport operations to ensure safe, efficient, and timely service delivery.
• Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules, monitor vehicle performance, and coordinate workshop activities to maximize fleet availability.
• Manage drivers, transport staff, and third-party transport vendors, ensuring compliance with safety standards, company policies, and regulatory requirements.
• Monitor fuel consumption, vehicle utilization, GPS tracking, and fleet performance metrics, identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce operating costs.
• Prepare fleet performance reports, manage transport budgets, and collaborate with internal stakeholders to support operational and business objectives.
Requirements:
• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Transport & Logistics, Fleet Management, or a related field.
• 5–8 years' experience in fleet or transport management, preferably within an FMCG, manufacturing, logistics, or distribution environment.
• Languages:Proficiency in Arabic, Hindi, Punjabi, or Gujarati is required
• Experience managing a diverse fleet of commercial and passenger vehicles.
• Strong knowledge of vehicle maintenance, fleet optimization, fuel management, GPS tracking systems, and workshop operations.
• Experience managing transport vendors and driving cost efficiencies.
• Proven leadership experience managing drivers and transport teams.
• Strong analytical, planning, and stakeholder management skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and fleet management systems. SAP knowledge will be an added advantage.
